Course Content (Young People)

Up to 5 weeks will be spent in the centre working on employability and personal development skills and working towards SQA qualifications.

You will develop your job search and communication skills, confidence, team-working and motivation through a variety of different activities and sessions.

By the end of this time you should be able to:

  • Identify and have a better awareness of your skills and abilities
  • Understand how employers expect you to behave at work
  • Understand how to deal with different work situations
  • Be more aware of local opportunities
  • Be more skilled, confident and professional in applying for jobs

You will then spend up to 8 weeks on work placement.  Wherever possible this will be in the vocational area of your choice.

You will usually spend 4 days a week on placement and 1 day in the centre

If you are 16, 17 ,or 18yrs old and not receiving benefit you will get a training allowance of £55 per week. You’ll also get help with travel costs
